Terms of Service
These terms govern use of Bhukkad's software by hostel/PG Owners and Managers ("Owner"), their residents ("Student"), and independent shop/restaurant partners ("Merchant"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.
1. What Bhukkad is
Bhukkad is a hostel/PG/mess operations tool: attendance, billing reconciliation, leave/outpass, complaints, security/gate logs, roster and fee tracking, and a separate local-offers marketplace for Merchants. Bhukkad is not a payment processor, a landlord, a verification/background-check service, or a party to any tenancy or fee agreement between an Owner and a Student — those relationships remain solely between the Owner and their residents.
2. Accounts & roles
Owners create and manage their own property's data, and control what Managers/Guards they add can access. Students are added by their Owner or self-onboard via a link the Owner shares. Merchants self-register independently and have no relationship to any hostel/PG.
3. Owner responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of roster, fee, and KYC data you enter, and for obtaining any consent required from your residents (or their parents/guardians, where a resident is a minor) before entering their personal or identity data.
- You are responsible for complying with local laws applicable to your property — including any police-verification, rent-receipt, or tenancy-disclosure requirements. Bhukkad's KYC tracker and agreement-acceptance features are record-keeping conveniences, not legal compliance guarantees.
- Fee and payment amounts recorded in the app reflect what you enter — Bhukkad does not independently verify that a recorded payment was actually received.
4. Platform fees
Bhukkad currently bills Owners on a per-resident, per-day basis, calculated from your active roster count and payable as invoiced. Pricing and billing terms may change with notice. Payment collection is currently handled manually/offline; in-app payment collection may be introduced in future and will be covered by updated terms at that time.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Bhukkad to store data you don't have the right to collect, attempt to access another Owner's or hostel's data, circumvent the app's access controls, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.
6. Service availability
Bhukkad is provided "as is" and is under active, ongoing development. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and features may change. We recommend Owners keep an independent record (e.g. periodic roster/fee exports, already available in-app) of critical data rather than relying on Bhukkad as a sole system of record, especially during this early stage of the product.
7. Data ownership
You retain ownership of the data you enter about your property and residents. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle and protect it. See our Privacy Policy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bhukkad is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including data loss, billing disputes between an Owner and a Student, or reliance on any figure the app computes (attendance, fee dues, cost estimates) without independent verification.
9. Termination
You may stop using Bhukkad at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for violation of these terms, non-payment of platform fees, or unlawful use.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [City — to be filled in].
